I'm Neal and bought my son a 91 gts for college about ten years ago and loved the car so I picked a few more since then. I've checked out this site and like what I saw. I have two celicas at this time. A 91 gts and a 93 gts. The 91 is all stock with only 68000 miles and the 93 has 180000 miles. The 93 I just picked up. The guy I bought it from ran it low on oil and so needs the engine replaced. Other than that it is a nice car. Hope to learn quite a bit from this site as I'm not real smart about working on toyotas but have worked on alot of other type cars and have a shop and most any tools I will need.

Welcome! Have you considered buying a 3sgte to swap into the 93?

I think it is more what you are looking to achieve with the cars. Are you looking to keep them or one of them stock while you build the other? Otherwise with the motor already toast in the '93 you have a fresh canvas to start with.

I already picked up a 5sfe out of a camary that was wrecked to swap out in the 93. The camary was owned by a old guy who kept up with the car. I will just swap out motors and sell the 93. The block that comes out of it I may rebuild just to have a good spare or look for another good deal on a car that needs the motor. The 93 has a automatic tranny so just not as fun to drive. As for the 91 ( 5 speed) it really doesn't need anything but a good sound system and some better looking wheels and tires.
