Long story... but the end result was that the right side mirror on my 1989 Celica GT drop-top met with the garage door frame and separated from the car. :sad cry:

Looks like only 3 screws, but I have not gotten into what it will take to pull this all apart.
Anyone know a source of supply of the needed parts, and what I might need to put this back together?

I was minutes from taking this completely unmolested car to a local car show when this happened. Needless to say, I put her back in the garage and drank multiple beers instead.

On the inside of the door take the cover off where the mirror mounts. Some cars have speakers here and some don't. once you get that cover off you should see the heads of those 3 bolts that mount the mirror assy. There may be foam covering them, maybe not. Take them off, get a new mirror assy and mount it using the reverse of that procedure. The connector for the power functions is also under the cover with the bolts. it might have a clamp holding the cable in place. This is actually pretty easy to do and should not take more than an hour if you have the new mirror ready.

Hopefully the triangle part that is the front of the window is not bent. If it is then you basically have to take apart the whole door to replace that part.

Chris... Any idea where I can source the parts?
The mechanics should be pretty easy. Getting the parts... I'm not so sure.

good point. I used carpart.com to get a side view mirror shipped to me once. Don't know why I didn't think of it.
