Posting a pic of some of our fun days out at slaloms and road race events. Classic Celica RWDs are fun. :D

Here's a pic of some of us going wide open throttle down the straight at www.grattanraceway.com . 1/2 hour heats is the length of time allowed for us, then we pull into the pits, a motorcycle club then races for 1/2 hour, then us again. Lots of fun. The track has lots of turns AND elevation changes. There is a turn that is banked the wrong way and has a elevation change going downhill on it's entry and uphill upon it's exit. One of the most technical and satisfying road racing tracks in the IL/Indiana/Michigan area.

Here's a pic of one of the corners - brother in his 83 Celica GTS just passes and is leaving the 911 behind:

That's what i call bright. A track is a much better place than street to race. Must be fun to race on that track too. :bigthumbu

Very nice looking celi on the first pic btw, she seems to be telling: GRRRRRRRR, get out of the way, i'm ready!. :D

Yes I agree! A track is a much more fun place to run and much more satisying. It is safer and there no excuse for the other guy. When you are passed you know it! On the street there are too many uncontrolled factors and it IS dangerous. That's why there are racetracks. :) One wish I do have is that the Midwest tracks adopt the open track events more. Like they have often in the California area. You show up - they tech inspect the car - you show them you have proper restraints and helmet - listen to the rules during a short driver's meeting - you race and dice it out with your friends and fellow drivers.

Track events are always going to be my all time favorite thing to do with Celicas.

Thanks!!
