I've had my eyes on this set of rims for a while...I'm planning on picking them up once spring comes back. I just want to make sure that they'll fit my Celi. I've done some reading and I'm pretty sure that it will...

I'm planning on upgrading from a 15" to a 16", so I'll probably get the 16x7 5-100/114 with an offset of 30. Since the 5th gen Celicas have the 5-100 bolt pattern for the stock wheels, it should fit, right? If I want to keep the ride height and everything stock, what size tires should I get?

And now it's picture time!

Silver Machine Polished:

Antharite Machined:

I'm leaning towards the silver one...what do you guys think?

I like the silver, however dirt and brake dust will not show up on the machined one as much. they look good though. As far as tires I htink for 16" you should get 55 series tires. I could be wrong. I will get back to you though.

I personally would go with bronze wheels, but I have an 'anthracite' car. It's the Porsche equivalent of anthracite, anyhow.

What color is your Celi?

It's turquoise :D

Nice rims, how big are the lips on them?

With a turquoise car, I'd go silver.

Yeah, I was thinking that too...both suit my car, but the antharite would make the car look too dark for me...

I can't find the specs on the lips, but here's a close up on it:

Where you getting them from?
How much?
Do they do them in 8*16?

Been looking for small offset wheels for ages and those would look tasty on my celi in anthracite. Same turquoise as your but I love dark / moody looking cars :)

I'm not sure exactly where I'm getting them from yet, I'll look into that when I'm getting ready to make the purchase. I've been looking at Discount Tires Direct (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do;jsessionid=B9PcmtGThYLDCCBNh9GsPcLCQR21cjm WGwSGjHfsKZJrsTb7lKgc!2116700804!940423438) for all the info. I don't think they have them in 16x8 though...

Check out the site though, it's got a lot of different wheels and the interactive wheel system is pretty neat. It gives you a general idea of what the wheels would look like on your car. It doesn't have the 5th gen Celica though...I just used the 6th gen since the side profiles are similar...

hmm looks like its probaly a 1 inch lip. That would look pretty good on your GT-Four emicen.

Yeah, I'm gonna go with the silver ones when I get them. Thanks for the input, guys!

Any word on the tire sizes for these?

12-16-2004, 08:15 AM
Depends on what size the wheels are.

If they're 17x7, I'd recommend 205/40/17.. of course you could go a little wider.

Use this: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

They must have updated their site, I have been on discount tires direct previously and these wheels werent there at the time. Cheers for that.

Yeah, but in reality, you say metallic teal, I say turquoise, both say gay colour!

Only benefit of mine is out of the 440 official UK Carlos Sainz models sold, I think there was under 50 in my colour, the rest were all red, white, black or grey.

Hey! I like my turquoise...
