I go to the Pull a Part at least once a month but I've never found anything really cool for my car. Well, today I happened upon a GT that had a nice set of mud guards.

I'm kind of wanting to paint them the same color as the car. Being that they are plastic and a bit flexible i'm worried if the paint would crack and fall off.

What do you think? Leave them black or try to paint them?

I dig the black.

My 89 has black ones on it. They contrast nicely with the blue.

Looks pretty sick, pretty lucky find. Out here in socal, if you find 3 good mud guards, the last is F up.

If you want to paint them Bruce, use a good plastic primer. The paint should hold up pretty good on the back but you're probably looking at having black on the front, facing the tire after a while.

They look really good. I found a full set a few months ago at the yard here but haven't decided if I'm putting them on or not.

Paint, use Krylon fusion. I think the mudguards should at least closely match the car. I need to paint mine sometime soon...

I honestly say leave them black. Various elements on the front end are black. So why not make a couple more items black too? Mirrors, the spoiler, the trim, and maybe the door handles? That'd look sick too.

Dealing with speed bumps with the military, mine were painted but the paint on the mud flaps in the front was always chipping off. If I had a second chance I would have stayed black.

I would leave them black, nice contrast. That was one thing I liked before I matted Chaos out, the contrast of the ST.

I am currently on the hunt for these. I think they look fantastic! I would probably go body color myself but black looks great also.

I'd paint them the color of the car. There's nothing in the rear or on the sides that's black. It looks tacky IMO.

Yeah, I'm gonna paint the back side and leave the side facing the tire black.

Yeah, I'm gonna paint the back side and leave the side facing the tire black.

I like this idea.

I would think r/c car paint would be flexible enough. I know it held up well when the body flexed on my truck. Who knows if you could find it in the exact color.
