View Full Version : What brand or style are my rims?

Looking for center caps for my rims, but don't know the brand or style. Bought them from a friend who bought them from his friend. No one knows the brand. Tried to do some research online, but that got me nowhere.

They are Volk AV3 knock offs. I'm looking for the exact model.

ok, it turns out that every tom dick and harry did a knock off of the AV3, so just by looking at them, there's no real way of telling. They should have a maker's mark cast into the back of one of the spokes, so pull them off and take a look there.

so, its Volk AV3's knock offs? what kind of maker's mark am i looking for? what would it say? i remember it saying "made in Taiwan" and some type of size.

Typically, the manufacturer will cast their name, or a model number in the back of the rim. If that's not there, just measure up the hole diameter and get a center cap that fit. Many to most are interchangable.

Thanks guys. Will have to look at the inside of the rims soon. Measured the inside diameter, its 2 1/4". Is there a website that I can get them from? Maybe make a custom center cap?

yeah, so what was the final say in what they were, and where did you get the caps?

Well, I just went with what temperacerguy said. Looked it up online and was almost exactly what he had said. Car_Barn_Bandit had some knock off caps which I bought from him. Put them on with some mods done for it to fit. The before pic on top, and the after pic here.

Thanx everyone!!!

Looks bitching man, glad those worked out for ya!

Edit: Just noticed the inside center of the wheel is missing a groove for the caps to lock into. Is that why you had to make an adjustment on the caps to make them fit?

That actually looks really really good.

Reminiscent of the seventh-gen GTS wheels, particularly with the centre cap.

to be honest... other than them being 5 spoke rims, there's really NOTHING reminiscent about them.

the shape is similerish

car_barn_bandit: Sorry took so long, but to answer your question, yes. only the inside of the cap fitted. The portion that had the "ring clip". The rest of it had to be cut off.

Thanx guys!!!

Can anyone help me out as well? I really like the look of these but they aren't wide enough.
