View Full Version : JDM Side Marker Holes...

I don't really feel like purchasing a new set of GTS fenders with holes for the side markers. I do have the lights and no how to cut the holes. Anyone know the measurements for where the lights are positioned at? Or do I just eyeball it?

Fenders are coming off, I'd just like the lights in the correct spot.

Eyeball it. However if you are like me, even with the exact measurements and perfectly placed it will always seem "off" to you, and everyone else will think it's perfect...

at least that's my neurosis.

Well I promise you, if I do it, I will use a template and it WILL be perfect. I just wanted to get it as close to a JDM or EDM fender so if they sat side by side, someone didn't go, "hey! look at the difference".

I got my fenders off. The lights are about one length (width of light) forward of the door and in line with the side marker light and the door handle. You can see the line in a few photos. I will cut the holes out there and post pics when I am finished.

So here is what I did after measuring about 11 inches up from the side trim...

Cut 4 holes using a drill:

I used the rubber gasket as a template:

Then cut open the hole with a cutting wheel:

Comparison of the two cuts:

Tapped into my corner lamp:

Final results:

When I finish cleaning all my Hella wiring on the other side, I will take her out, clean her and use a decent camera that hasn't gone for a swim.
