how much do 3rd gens weigh?

04-30-2005, 08:44 AM
hmm 125 out of an '85? sounds like just a little mild tuning. probably takes an open intake and performance muffler to get that much power. course i cant speak directly for 85CelicaGT, you'll just have to wait for him ;)

3rd gens can weigh anywhere between 2600-2800 lbs, with coupes weighing in the lower end of the scale

04-30-2005, 09:52 AM
my hatch weighed 3000 (on a truck scale) with me, full tank of gas and my stereo in

These cars, if modified right can catch cars costing many times more. They're quite durable, RWD, and bcoming very rare.
They respond well to proper mods, can keep up and reel in AE86s and 911s.

The starting hp on the stock engines are not much by today's standards but those engines are tough as nails and just keep runnng and running. Many of them are still running to this day whether modded or in a hybrid (a popular one is the 20r/22r) setup.

well i did a few engine mods when i did the rebuild about 4 yrs ago i have an open element intake performance exhaust and just a little tuning. i had the engine dynoed when i did the rebuild it dynoed at 135hp at 4800 so i figure with the tranny the driveline and the rearend i figure i lost about 10hp through it all. it also way 2400 thats rounded up
