I was wondering if the clear signal lights that go along with many clear corner kits you see on flea bay were actually factory?

I've been planning to purchase a set of clear corners and wanted OEM parts - so I was talking with Aaron at Lithia Toyota to check pricing and availability. When the subject of the signal lights came up I did not have the part number - and Aaron commented that every JDM Celica picture he had showed amber signal lights.

Nope.

Yea - I just answered my questions by checking Toyota DIY - every part number was the same for the signal lights.

Guess I'll get a flea bay kit and maybe also buy he OEM corners if I think the quality might be better.

It is kind of funny that when I check flea bay I see people trying to sell used OEM corners, some with slight damage, for MORE than they cost new from Lithia Toyota.

So I went ahead and ordered the OEM parts from Lithia Toyota. There was some confusion - the JDM part numbers from ToyotaDIY are as follows:

81610 LAMP ASSY, PARKING & CLEARANCE, RH
81610‑20390 ST18* (09/1989 - 04/1992) 1 $64.69
81610‑20391 ST18* (05/1992 - 08/1993) 1 $64.69

81620 LAMP ASSY, PARKING & CLEARANCE, LH
81620‑20390 ST18* (09/1989 - 04/1992) 1 $64.69
81620‑20391 ST18* (05/1992 - 08/1993) 1 $64.69

Those numbers for the 09/89 - 04/92 did not show up in the system - and I had specified a 1991 Alltrac. I didn't know the lights changed - I did know they look different on a 1990.

Well - doesn't matter - if they don't fit my 1991 Alltrac I can use them on either the '92 ST or the '93 GTS.

Aaaron was a big help taking his time to look that stuff up for me - I forgot to add the note in my online order about Celicatech referring me there - but I did verbally say such.

Help me! When someone says side marker lamp assemblies and turn signal lamp assemblies, I pretty much know what these are on a 5th Gen. When someone says parking lamp assemblies, I will assume parking is the same as either side marker or turn signal, but I'm not sure which. Can someone help me make the connection?

Are the ToyoDIY part references above for the clear side marker lamp assemblies?

No, parking lights and marker lights are the same -- to indicate to others where the corner of the car lies.

So corner lights, side marker lights, and parking lights mean exactly the same thing then? And besides headlights in the front, the only other lights that are there are the turn signal lights? Are turn signal lights referred to as anything else?

The "corner" lights are referred to as "clearance" lights in the Toyota parlance - at least as far as ToyoDIY has.

The "bumper" lights ARE the "signal" lights, again in ToyoDIY parlance.

The part numbers above, with the "1" on the end of them, are valid part numbers for OEM "clearance" (corner) lights still available from Toyota. As I mentioned - the price from Lithia Toyota for these is LESS than people selling used ones on eBay - that is, for OEM parts.

The turn signal lights NEVER came stock in clear - only amber - so if you want those as well (as I do), you need to purchase them from eBay. They are available separately from the corners.

If you want the ones that closely match look for the one's that are not "crystal" harder to find but match so much better... they are just a little bit "brighter" than the JDM clear corners
