I have both, sitting here. Which do you think is better or my little
gen1 3sge stock build? Probably doesnt matter, but Id rather use the better of the two.

4-2-1 typically have a wider band where they're most efficient, while long 4-1 can usually produce more power at higher RPMs. Better depends upon what you're trying to achieve -- for instance if you're looking for very low end power to improve takeoff/driveability, the log-style manifold which comes stock on a 5SFE Celica is best.

What engine is it going on? What cams are you using? What are the dimensions of each of these headers? The most important measurements are primary runner diameter and then runner length.

Stock built gen1 3sge. I'm not gonna go indepth on measuring and stuff. Just wondering if one is clearly
better than the other.

The 3SGE for sure.......The tubing is wider and more straight to begin with.

I have a 3rd Gen 3SGE 4-2 available for sale, but I don't have the secondary 2-1 available.......just sayin.....

Looks can be deceiving which is why I said you should measure it. Also bigger is not always better. FYI the gen3 will not bolt up to a gen1, gen2 or 5sfe.

I have an old gasket that says they will bolt up. As far as the Gen 3 goes, the tubing is wider, longer and more straight than the Gen 1. It is a tubular manifold like the 5SFE, unlike the Gen 1 3SGE.

Are you sure you are looking at a gen3? The gen3 was never sold in North America and from everything I have heard shares the same configuration and bolt pattern as the gen3 3sgte which is completely different then the 5sfe and earlier 3sges.

I have two Gen3 headers. One is from the Gen 3 3SGE I have in my car (It has an HKS 4-2-1 on it currently).

As I recall, the issue with different revisions wasn't the spacing or sizing of the ports in the manifold, but the number and position of the studs.

I could be mistaken as it has been a while since I actually looked at these, but I could've sworn there was no conflict. This much I'm absolutely sure of: The number of studs is not a problem. Placement may be so I'll double check on Monday.

I used the '97 5S camry header on my 5S Celica and I definately noticed a difference, so I know they are at least decent, but I would have to go aftermarket if I had one laying around like you. It is kind of fun to use Toyota parts as mods though.

Ive had the camry manifold and went to the hotshot header and i feel that the latter felt better in the low end. but still the camry mani still does the job.
