i replaced the front shocks and i took out the strut assembly. Now i cannot get the top bolt of strut assembly to align with the hub assembly.

feels like the hub wont budge up (stuck facing down). i can get the bottom screw in, but not the top one...

when i put the steering wheel straight, the hub looks like its not straight.

can anyone help... thanks

Which side is it? Check to make sure you didn't pull the cv joint apart. Could have slipped out enough to be binding on you. Just realign it and push it back into the cup.

im going to go see, hopefully it works...

Unless you bent something, which isn't likely, it should have been a "out with the old in, with the new" job. The only thing I can think of is maybe your cv-axle isn't the whole way through and won't let it line up. There really isn't much else in that general area that would stop you, but pics would be helpful.

I found it helped to grease the sides of the strut and knuckle where they mate -- brake grease worked well since I didn't have to worry about it damaging rubber bits later.

Are you fighting against the sway bar? Try jacking up passenger side lower A arm, leave it there and go back to the driver side and try to push it up.

i replaced the front shocks and i took out the strut assembly. Now i cannot get the top bolt of strut assembly to align with the hub assembly.
-Top bolt as in the two bolts that connect the strut to the hub? Top meaning upper of the two?

feels like the hub wont budge up (stuck facing down). i can get the bottom screw in, but not the top one...
-Are you saying you cannot make the hub face its normal operating position, or that it wont lift straight up. Sometimes its just a tight fit. Try a hammer near the top bolt hole of the hub.

when i put the steering wheel straight, the hub looks like its not straight.
-Probably just looks.

can anyone help... thanks
-No

i'll try jacking with the sway bar, on the passenger side, and see if that works.

-------- Yes, the top one is the one. I can't lift the hub enough to put the bolt in. I Tried hammering it, already.

feels like the hub wont budge up (stuck facing down). i can get the bottom screw in, but not the top one...

--------Yes, well i cannot lift it straight up. only side to side.
