I'm running a 3S swap with a 99 Solara V6 E153 Trans, I have an S series gear in now so it doesnt read speeds, I was wondering if you could help me get an E-Series gear that is manual (using the wire instead of the electric ones)
Thanks! :)

An ST185 would use gear 33403-19406 and sleeve 33404-17010 to drive a mechanical speedometer cable. Those should fit your transmission in place of its current electric sending unit. I can't say for sure that your existing speedo cable will be the correct length to reach the new drive gear, though. You may just have to try it and see how it fits.

Hey Aaron,
I bought the the sleeve 33404-17010 for the speedometer cable, but how am I supposed to screw the cable onto the sleeve? It's completely open with no inserts or anything?
Thanks, Ray

You only bought one part of the system. There is an elbow that goes on the back of it which the cable screws into.

Crud...he's right. I overlooked that. To replicate the ST185 drive system, you need a key (83798-17010) and that angle drive unit (83770-17010), which is worth a whole lot of groceries. There's also a short cruise control speed sensor between the cable and the drive unit, and a second key (83798-20020) between it and the cable. I don't see any way around that system. The same drive unit was also used on '87-'91 Camry V6 with manual transmissions, so you may get lucky and find a used one, although they do get gummy over time. If you do find a used one I have heard rumor that they can be disassembled, cleaned out and lubed up, so if you do find a used one, you may be able to refurbish it.
