I've been poking around on ebay for a while, looking up affordable mods for my AT180. I keep coming across oil catch cans/ air-oil separators. Now that I'm curious, I've started researching the benefits of an oil catch can on youtube. I must say, from what I've seen the cans do a lot of good. I was wondering though.
The videos and item descriptions do not specify this as a component of a turbo set-up. Are the benefits of this the same on an NA engine? Are the cons to go with the pros of an oil catch can in general? I've seen most that are simple steel boxes, and some that have breathers on them. If this is a mod that would do me some good, it looks like an affordable one. Thoughts?

It would do just as much good on a n/a motor as it would a f/i motor.

Is there more benefit to one with a breather filter on top?
