So I have decided to add a e153 lsd transmission to my 3sgte swapped st184 and was searching for info on what clutch to use. I found one post that said to just use a MR2 turbo clutch kit but have had a hard time confirming this. Before I pick up a clutch can anyone confirm the right one to use. Thanks

MR2 Turbo's had an E153 so you should be fine using one.

Also the engine has a 5sfe crankshaft which I assume means it has a 5sfe flywheel. Would that change anything?

So... you have a stroker 3sgte?

Yes it does change what you need. If it's the 5sfe crank and flywheel, you'll need to use the e153 clutch disk (off the mr2), and a pressure plate for the 5sfe.

Yes it is a stroker engine. So does anyone know where I could go to get a custom clutch like that?

Anywhere really.. I know ACT sells pressure plates and disks separately.

Usually people do NOT use a 5S-FE flywheel when doing a stroker. If you have an aftermarket flywheel, it's probably a 3S flywheel. The holes on just about all aftermarket 3S flywheels are elongated to accommodate the 5S crank.

So how would I be able to tell if the flywheel is a 5s one or a 3s one? Or could I simply purchase a new 3s flywheel and be done with it? If I did purchase a new 3s flywheel how could I tell if it would fit the 5s crank. Thanks again eveyone for all the help.

ST165s run a 5S crank pattern on the flywheel which will work with a standard 3S clutch unit (all alltracs and MR2 Turbos use the exact same clutch kit).

So, try and find a 165 flywheel, or a fidanza one with the ovaled holes.

Luni is correct.

I also found out from mr2oc that the SPEC flywheels part #st33s and st33a will all both work with the 3s and 5s crank.

Yeah, so Josh says. I believe him.

So you got that avenue too.

exactly.

also i am pretty sure all fidanza/spec flywheels have the 5s/3s bolt hole size so its just a buy and install thing :D

I have a Fidanza 3S flywheel and I used it on my 5S stroker. From what I've read, just about all aftermarket ones will work.
