My Project: 1994 Celica Gt four (3sgte 3rd gen) RHD
Bought on January 12th 2011. Cost $2000. (Not running)
Rebuilt turbo, stage 2 clutch (screwed up the install won’t engage after 1 day of driving),
Re pulling to fix clutch now.
List of parts needed:
Engine/drive train: BOV, Manifold + down pipe, radiator cap, exhaust.
Electronics/gauges ext: Trans temp, boost gauge, gauge cluster, turbo timer
Interior: Roll cage, driver’s door panel, short shifter + knob, E break handle, assorted trim new seats, head liner.
Exterior: Rear bumper cover/ body kit (I’m unsure what I'm doing), tail lights tires and rims. Not worried about outside for now.
He painted some of trim with a brush.......... some people
Scratched to hell
1 of these rims is not like the others LOL
Here is how it sits as of now. I like the silver but I'm not sure what I'm doing with it. I have always wanted to do a nice flat/satin black (I have a spray booth to use) with black rims, smoked out lights and blacked out glass.
This is just a quick list of things known to be needed as of now. Nothing performance related as of yet.

I'll check the ebrake handle and headliner on my parts car when I get home to see if its suitable for selling. That's about all I got.

Wow that thing was in rough shape. Was it a theft recovery?

03-26-2011, 04:21 AM
I could also check on a speaker grille for you too.

Thanks let me know what you want for the E brake handle

It was a car that a friend started to tear aapart to work on and never got past the tear down. I got it all ripped apart.

Pretty bad when your the 3rd person asked if it got stolen LMAO.

I do have a used door panel and maybey a headliner on the way. Also im waiting on a possable matching rim. im just waiting to see what shipping on them are. My main things that are needed right now are a bov and and tires so im able to drive it to a friend shop. im tired of working on it out side.

Cows not helping much?

They a gaurding it for me

It looks like you need an intake as well as a BOV. Not sure if you are wanting stock units, if not I've got a SARD intake and SARD R2D2 BOV that I am no longer using if you are interested? You would still need the stock intake hose to connect the SARD to the turbo, or you would need to buy a SAMCO hose.

thats kinda funny i was just looking at r2d2 bov and was thinking on getting it and the intake i was going to make one but ........ if you have both how much do you want for both?

Looks like I have found : Ebreak, Shift knob, and a matching rim for the 1 im missing. (I have a feeling that he was the one who stole the rim to start with. Good thing it was marked. What are the odds of finding some one with one rim that matches mine and live in a small town 15 mins from me.)

Also will have a BOV.

Well the car is back together. New clutch and a list of new parts that don't matter. New rubber and flushed and changed all fluids.
But now I ran in to a stupid problem and I it was too hot for me to think about it any more today.
I got the car off the hoist ready to fire it up and will crank nicely. Just wont fire. I dont think the coil is getting power.
Only thing i can do is wait and try tomorrow.

are you planning on road racing the car?Since you mentioned getting a roll cage.

Everything else looks good though!

07-07-2011, 04:36 AM
Thought about it but no. I was going to use it for a rally but its to nice of a car. and I cant fit in it with a roll cage in it.
I'm not sure what to do with it now. I dont want to kill it and i want it to be more then a street queen.

I guess i figure it out when i have it runnung again and all my parts come in.

Hey - if you ever want to get rid of that spoiler - let me know. :)

Well the car is on the road sorta. I found out why I have been having so many probles with this car.

I will be ordering Crush sleeves ...... i think is what they are called. and finaly have got most of the course thred standered bolts out. Lots of re-threading. I think that almost 95% of them have been done. The owner that had the car befor me had put course thread standered bolts everywhere, places like the bolts in to the subframe where the banana arm goes and torqued them in there so tight so it wouldn't move because he didn't have sleaves in it. Im hoping there is still enuff life in the bushings so I can wait for a bit to get new arms.

I have replaced all of the farmer rigging wiring job done in it then welded up the drill holes in the fire wall.
I also found a piece on my car not sure what it does and where it goes. It has wires going in to it so its important.

This is the fun part its like putting together a jigsaw puzzle with no picture on the box. Ah your not a back yard mechanic if you don't a few pieces left over.

Hey - if you ever want to get rid of that spoiler - let me know. :) I don't think I want to get rid of it i like it too much. I think it sets the car apart from most

New brake pads, crush sleves, and IC pump on order. It runs and drives but stuck in limp mode due to a code 54. I start it up get it to operating temp then rev it up. The coolant in the intercooler doesn't drop so im assuming the pump is done. I'm ordering a new one and the senser on the top of the intercooler aswell. I also have a small crack in the rad right on top by the rad cap. I'm thinking of using jb weld untill i can find a new aluminum rad.

Solved my code 14 problem by cleaning my conections and replacing a ground wire.
Need to find out another problem area though. I have a buzz coming from a relay in the headlight relay box. the relay is ok but I think the wires might have a short in them.
In the pic you can see where the relay that is buzzing was. The Empty slot to the very far left of the box. Also you can see the crack in the rad.
Here is a pic of the whole bay (Its a mess but i'm trying to fix every think befor i can clean it up)

I'm also going to be getting a cupple rolls of vacum lines so i can replace all the existing ones with new ones.

Thanks for reading and im always up for advise

Nice progress so far. Damn those 205's are sexy!

07-15-2011, 10:45 AM
Solved my Code 54 problem. It wasn't in the relay or in the pump. I hade a bad wire running from the relay to the the first harness and another bad wirk running to the ecu. I have ripped that whole system apart so many times now I will have dreams about it. If anyone ever is Running a code 54 on an ST205 with a stock intercooler I have a sugestion. After makeing sure ur level in the intercooler is fine and if you know your pump isnt working. you want to start but checking relay and then check the wires out of that realy box to your harness under you fuse box. There is a good chance that you will have a bad wire there. If you fine one there repair it and wrap it in heat tape. The heat from the rad realy does a number to those wires.

If anyone needs help with this code and reads this i'll be willing to give you my advise. I do think there are people on this forum that will know more.

Now its time to try to find a new rad. I have a small crack in the top of mine and rather then just get it fixed i think i would like an aluminum one.

Cancel my last post Code 54 is back and causing more problems

Did you test the water float? my RC turned out to have a bad float, bypassing it with a paperclip made it go away til I got a new float.

An ST205 for $2K?! I'll give you 5 for it, as is! Lol. Seriously, it's good to see you tackling all these problems. Most people would just give up after a certain point. Keep it up.

08-05-2011, 04:13 AM
I wouldn't mind knowing how/where you got one so cheap either... hit me up in a PM. ;)

09-07-2011, 08:34 PM
Well I think its time for me to give up on this st205. I have put too much money in to it and lots of time. I love the car but its been a fight all the way from the start. I have put it up for sale and when its gone I think I will mabey get one imported for my self. I need to get one that hasnt been worked on by people that have no idea of what they are doing.

09-07-2011, 08:38 PM
What are the current issues with it? If this is your ad it doesn't look near as bad as what you first posted...

09-08-2011, 07:41 AM
Don't give up on it! What's left to be done?

09-14-2011, 05:42 AM
great pick up!!! Dont give up.......alot of AT owners here in the states would love to get their hands and a genuine ST205. Keep us posted and restoring takes time.....TRUST ME! Just keep at it.....
