HEY guys! new here, my name is james. Im just about to get my hands on a nice 2000 celica gts with 87k miles on it, only downside is its the 4 speed automatic :/ want to change it to manual. found a 2002 lancer rallyart manual trans i could get, think it would fit? also how much time and money do you think it would take to get it swapped in a shop? thanks in advance!

Well, he COULD put the engine normally attached the Mitsu Trans into the celica....

Eh... If you were gonna go so far as to swap in the 4g69 from a ralliart, might as well go balls out and go with the turbo 4g63 from an EVO. Then you woulda been better off just getting an EVO lol

mitsubishi transmission would work? anybody know any other manual trannys that WOULD work? lol

The Mitsu transmission would work in a Celica if you put a Mitsu engine in a Celica -- but dropping a Mitsu transmission onto a Toyota engine will not work. For that matter, not all transmissions from the same company work with all engines from that company. You have to match the engine (particularly the block) to the transmission.
