Unfortunately its that time for me to get rid of her after 7-8 years. Just bought a house and need a more practical and reliable vehicle. The plan is to sell her off and buy a 22re 2wd pickup for commuting/hauling random crap.

Question is: How much is she worth?

Info:

* 92 Celica GT with a bone stock swapped 2nd gen 3sgte (JDM) so more powerful than USDM 3sgte. s54 smooth shifting tranny.

* 118k on the odom, both chassis and engine essentially have the same mileage cuz I swapped her at 58k and the 3sgte had 100k km (62k miles)

* No leaks, assuming good compression (still have to test)
* Interior in very good condition
* Exterior paint in fair condition
* Only modifications are BOV and Autometer Cobalt electric gauges (oil pressure, boost, and water temp). Water temp does not work anymore, but stock gauge still works fine.

I was thinking of $3000 obo or $2500 FIRM. Too high, too low?

Don't really know what she is worth, so I am looking for opinions on what you guys think is fair.

Also is it a running swap, or still a project?

I don't know what the market is like where you are, but for here that would be a little bit on the low side. But that might be just right in Cali/US. Around here if it were in great shape, I could see it going for $3500-4000, but it's a bit unique here where a LHD car will fetch a premium.

I would ask $4000obo and start from there. Swaps just seem to have problems, but If I think that is reasonable if the body is clean. It's a pitty (for the seller) how low swaps re-sell for.

Which is why I doubt I'll ever sell Jasmine. Well I may ditch the body but keep the powertrain.

It's worth 3-4. Start high and work down.

Ask 10k for it, there's bound to be another Ricksta out there.. :hehe:

Have any pictures? I might be interested. I live about nine hours away though.

Yea - I'll go with the pack here and say start with $4k and work it down - maybe even $5k - you can always re-list it if you don't get any bites.

Biggest part is what shape is the body and paint in? Engine is great and important but body and paint sells the car.

I have to prepare it to sell still which is why I have not posted pictures yet. Being my dd and only car, the exterior paint is pretty bad and the interior honestly just needs to be cleaned and vacuumed. Also, about 9 months ago 5th gear went out, so I need to put a 5th gear in before I sell it. 1st-4th shifts beautifully. If it turns out 5th gear is not repairable, the asking price will go way down unfortunately, cuz I am not going through the effort of putting in a tranny. I plan to have it ready to sell in 3-4 weeks after interior, exterior, and engine cleaning along with 5th gear replacement.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll probably start at 3000 obo on here and 3500 obo on craigslist. I'd be willing to go lower for a forum member than on craigslist.

I think you should just buy a Geo Metro and keep your car. You'll regret selling it.

Joe, you know the ins and outs on that car, a trans swap would really only take you a half-day at most I would imagine. Buyers might want to use that as a big bargaining chip if you can't get it fixed. That'd be my thoughts there.

Sucks that you're selling though!
