Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I just recently bought myself a 95 Celica ST Coupe 5 Speed. A ton of miles on her 336k to be exact. I'm in process of getting her title and service records (if I get get the latter). Ill post pictures in a few hours when the sun comes up. The previous owner took really good care of it. There were seat covers on the seats and plastic mats over the stock mats. And both are still in great condition. She runs smooth and better than my 07 Cobalt ever did. Smoother too!

Current Plans:
Clean her up
Routine maintenance
A few interior addons. (Mainly radio and shift knob and possibly short throw shifter)
Replace High Beam Headlight assemblies (both are cracked)
Fixed rusted wiper arms
Fix Trunk lock
Change out the stock speakers (16 yrs of music they don't sound so great anymore)
Future plans are:
GT-Four conversion (just the bumpers Hood sideskirts and wing)
:or:
SS-III, whatever I can find first really, thinking even a Curren swap.
Turbo the motor (possibly with the earlier 4A-GZE motor or 3SGTE whichever is easier/cheaper swap to get a decent amount of HP)
Lightweight rims and summer tires (Will be putting winter tires on steelies)

I wish I could show pictures but I will as soon as the 7 days have passed by.

But so far I've torn the interior out, cleaned it (which I now have to do again since my daughter decided to spille a whole sippy cup of chocolate milk in my back seat and I can't get the damn smell out)

Replaced rear speakers (in process of front speakers).

Also tinting my windows (within legal limit for Delaware laws)

Just FYI, the 4a-gze is a supercharged engine while the 3sgte is a turbo engine.

You'll want to go the 4agze route for ease, 3sgte won't mate up to the engine mounts in your bay without customization.

Haha I meant to put boost the engine, but yeah I was thinking that same thing, As far as I've found clips for an MR2 or any other car that had the $AGZE (corrolla ? ) are just about the same amount as the 3SGTE minus the GT4 one which normally includes the rear subframe from what I see. I'll have to take a few more looks.

How big is the aftermarket for the 4AGZE?

Ay if you need any parts (particularly headlight housings, fenders, doors etc) hit me up via PM. I have an ST parts car that has some of those items I'd be willing to ship. (Doors might be tricky though) Anyways, hit me up on PMs with whatever you need and I'll let you know if I have it. Cool?

That's fine. I will be PMing you soon then.

Sorry for double post. But I have come to the conclusion of going all motor for now, so I'll save up the money and when I can I'll do a BT 4AGE 20v swap, with an Pheonix (or Tweak'd Performance whatever it is now) wiring harness.

could do a 7age i think ive seen em n/a reach around 190-210 whp with some work, 3s only requires you to slightly modify one mount bracket and change crossmembers.

Yeah I'm still deciding on what to do.
Oh here are the pictures:

Here is the stock boot and knob. Boot was all ripped up and knob was a little loose.

and after a quick trip to the local auto parts store I bought a boot and used a knob I had sitting around. Temporary for now.

Progress.
This is what I did to the rear brackets to make the speakers fit, not sure if you can tell? I have to take all the pictures with my phone since I don't havea camera.

Here is the speaker sitting in the one bracket. Cheap speakers but the y sound better then stock speakers and they werer cheap (all four for $35 USD)

Everything put back (had my speakers for the front door and my jacket on the rear seats it was getting hot inside this little car)

http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/cjstranick/20110302172132.jpg

the previous owner took very good care of the seats in this car I'll have to grabe pictures of the floor mats too. Only downside to the seats are the tops of the rear seat where sun damage has turned the tops a slight purple. But otherwise this interior is very nice.

Does anyone have some good guides for the 4AGE swaps?

Just a small update. Still throwing around what do with the engine when it goes....really need to figure it out, but need the money to do anything really.

But, I've started fixing some dents on it, I think the fender is beyond fixing, (it had a really huge dent that I popped out a bit but more of the fender was warped than i thought) ohh and my dad scratched the fender trying to pull it into his garage. I'll get pics up soon. I'll most likely be buying a used fender off a member here or at 6gc, whichever has cheaper shipping really. But I gotta fix a bit of rust on the left rear wheel well. I sanded it down and prined it, but there were some holes, but since I'm going for a flush fitment later on I'm just gonna sand them back down, put some rust stopping stuff and roll them. And then gotta fix a dent in front of the wheel well....and that is all I can remember right now, OHH I took the damn spoiler off it was rusting out, so I put some fibergalss cloth and bondo in and filled the holes. (quick fix until I can do it right). This car will just probably end up turning all black primer as I fix small dents here and there. Still trying to decide on a coilover set up, and rims that will fit the color I go for ( I may stay black and go with either gunmetal, bronze, or gold rims, or second option is yellow with gunmetal rims)

But I need some money first, so anyone willing to donate to a broke joker fund let me know haha (j/k). also got a replacement headlight to fix the cracked on I got, just need to take it apart and clean it.

No need to rush the motor thing. As long as yours runs I would milk it till everything else is done. And good idea to work on the body first. Don't want to do alot to a car if the body has too many issues.

CoreyST

Yeah, and in the mean time I'm teaching myself how to do body work, and anything I can't do myself my uncle can help me (he does great body work has rebuilt a few mopars, namely a challenger and a dart, on his way to completing a charger and a wagon, on badass wagon).
Hopefully I can get him to paint it, or I can, but it is such a tight fit to get the car in my shed/garage.

Ahhhh I wish you wouldn't do that to your car! But hey, it IS your car, I just think the black is sexy as it is.

The yellow makes me sad, but as mentioned, it is your car.

CoreyST
04-06-2011, 09:59 PM
Haha I like the black, but I've always owned black, and well It is a bitch to keep it nice, you see all the scratches too easily and scratches make me sad.

I'll actually be making the whole car yellow, I'm thinking of doing a kind of pearl with it.....black base coat, yellow pearl (if that is even possible) so when you see it in different lights it is yellow, and other's its black.

MCcelica
04-06-2011, 10:49 PM
I'm doing that with my 6th gen. But instead of yellow it'll be a good deep blue in the pearl. I also took that 3 post spoiler, and made it into a two post as well as changed to an ST205 front end. All of that mixed with repair work to the entire passenger side. I'm still way deep in the project as time is my achilles heel at the moment. But I'll be making a very vivid thread about it once its done.

I'd love to see it. What would be better, a 2 color chameleon with yellow and black (is that possible) or the black with yellow in the pearl, which I will either mix with the base or the clear (i have found out each one with give a different look.)

MCcelica
04-07-2011, 07:27 AM
I was never personally a fan of the chameleon look myself. I would just be paranoid that it'd look like mustard, or even brown. I'm personally going with the blue in the base as opposed to the clear for two reasons. One, I think it usually looks better. Two, it helps the clear stay intact and can help it last a little longer. That's all a matter of preference though.

CoreyST
04-07-2011, 12:02 PM
Actually I can see it making it turn more brown. I'll have to get in touch with some paint companies to see what they think.

Can anyone help me? Someone broke my antenna and I tried to remove it but when I went to loosen that damn nut it just popped off and the whole thing wont come out. I'll have to get pictures.
But when you look at it you have pretty much just the base sitting there with a tiny portion of antenna sitting there. I'll go get pics but does anyone think they could help? I don't plan on keeping the antenna anyway so i'll do what I have to to get it out.

MCcelica
04-09-2011, 07:22 PM
In order to remove the whole antenna, you also have to remove the entire motor assembley. I'm thinkin of getting a different antenna also, but mine is removed for the painting process.

CoreyST
04-11-2011, 12:11 PM
Hm, Ill see if I can get it off. Hopefully I can. It really sucks, now I'll be putting in a hidden antenna since there are no 6GCs in my area at any junkyard. It sucks.
