After a year and a half of casually searching for these, I finally found A 97 camry header at the local PnP. Im excited to finally have the closest thing to a factory performance header as I think ill find anytime soon. Now i have to figure out what car to put it on.

Yeah, my dream is to dnyo the ebay header v.s. the 89gts v.s. the 97 camry v.s. stock.
I knoe any gain is minimal, but that's all bolt-on mods for na s blocks.

Heres mine after paint today. That VHT brand paint is awesome, very thick and lays good.

Just to let you know. When you first start the car, after getting it warm and your engine is smoking like a freight train, its your header paint.

I painted mine red. it looked fine cold. Get the engine warm, the header turned white. and eventually stayed white.

Also dont run without the heat sheild for the exhaust manifold. Hood liner melts, then warps your hood and messes up your paint.

Log style manifolds such as came stock on 5SFE Celicas are typically good for very low-end efficiency -- drivability and take-off. A 4-1 header, depending upon runner length, is more often suited for high-RPM efficiency. A 4-2-1 generally aims for a broader efficiency curve centred around the mid-range RPMs. All of this is of course generalities.

Even with the high temp paint? This stuff says its for headers, 1300-2000 degree.

i had BBq and stove 1100 degree paint on my headers...it was flat black but layed glossy. when it got warmed up after starting the car, it then turned flat. after a little smoke, and eventually turned white. but i know VHT is a high quality brand (damn well better be at that ~$8 a can rate) so im sure itll be fine. my 1100 degree paint burned off and turned white when my fan shorted out and the car started to overheat. but it was fine for the couple weeks before the car started overheating. and if your headers are getting hot enough to burn off that VHT and turn it white, then somethings wrong ;P

I just used VHT header paint to paint my calipers red today. Then it started raining.

It worked well I think, though I didn't do quite as good a job as I would have liked. Right as I started to lay on the second coat the wind started blowing and 45 mins later it started to rain lightly. Heres how it turned out:

I used black VHT on my old camry header and it worked ok for me. Once it got hot the glossiness burned away and left a nice flat black.

I forgot to update this.

I looked at my dads and all i could find was the "Engine Enamel" the 500 degree stuff. so maybe that was what i used. that would explain why it burned off too.
