were they available in the 86/87 4th gens? i mean i do see them but they are usually in the coupes. this is the first time ive seen them in the hatch here in the u.s. but maybe i dont pay attention so much...

anyways i found a set in black of all colors in the local yards today, lets just say i couldnt leave without them.

heres what i grab from the yard today.

aside from the other stuff i grabbed

the side trim with the seatbelt hole already cut
the seatbelts themselves
the speaker grills with the slot for the belt
is all for the chest seatbelts.

im thinking a conversion this weekend. i wouldnt call these rare but really how many 4th gens do you see with chest belts in back instead of the lap belts?

My '89 GT-S has shoulder belts in back. It's a coupe, not a hatch though.

^ Sounds like it could well be a coupe thing

You know they have to be mounted at just the right angle to retract properly, yes?

nate, i found a chest seatbelts from a hatch, so it's not a coupe only thing. they do lock when tugged before i tried yanking them. i might be grabbing these (blue). lemme know if you need them, otherwise i might try finding a way to retrofit them into mine. (the little bits and pieces are not salvagable like the speaker grill and stuff)
