Thought Id share this cause I had them both out.
Right side 3SGE 8 bolt and left side 3SFE 6 bolt. You can see how the GE crank is more "aerodynamic". Its edges are smoother and rounded.

GE top FE bottom

EDIT: It is certain now that the FE crank is cast, the GE is forged.

I was expecting the GE crank to be lighter but they weigh the exact same. I donno if the more rounded edges of the GE crank really do anything, but it looks like a higher quality shaft. Note these are both from gen 1 engines.

Are they both cast or forged or blah?

I donno how to tell the differance.

As I recall both are cast. Could be wrong though.

INFO is in. FE is cast. GE is forged.
Also I see no reason why a FE rod would not fit on the GE crank. Same jurnal sizes. Just some info cause I swear someone told me they wouldnt fit.

Be VERY afraid of FE rods!

We all know FE rods are weak. I was just stating that either rod could be used on either crank.

3s cranks are forged in the pits of hades and are meant to destroy everything that gets in their way. unless u starve it of oil or spin it too high or get it too hot
