So its not AWD and no turbo. But its news I guess. Im dissappointed they are not roaring back with an AWD.

It's not awd but I would love to roll around in that thing, looks better than stock

Its only Tarmac rally thought right now, I'm not so sure that would do so hot on the dirt courses. And its still a private team, Toyota themselves haven't got back into it...fuckers.....anyways I don't really like the look of it but hopefully it will it atleast gear up some interest perhaps and get some attention to Toyota and rallying. Nice to see them have something out there!

128 HP and it's going to compete against the STi and EVO X? OK...

It's not race material, but I like the way it looks. Honestly, i have no idea wtf Scion is thinking

I actually don't mind the xD in original setup. Most Scions can be made to look decent with a few different things. My guess is the xD already has a SC available for it like the old xB's and xA's.

Well, it's not the "ideal" car for rally by any means. It sure doesn't seem to matter to Chris Duplessis though. He's just getting the handle on the car. I can't be quoted on this because I frankly don't remember the details buthere's results from the Maine Forest Rally in July of 2010; I beleive the car had an open diff at the time, amongst some other short comings. This was also either the first or second race for the car:

And to add further to this Scion Rally car, it doesn't "really" compete directly with the Sti's and Evo's. The article sorta leaves some small details out, like how the Scion will compete in the 2WD classes. Rally America seperates out the AWD cars and the 2WD cars in different classes. However, there is still "overall", as seen above.
At MFR, Chris was 2nd in 2WD. He finished behind a well-sorted Neon SRT that had quite a bit more power....and a proper diff....suspension...brakes....etc.

It looks like some of the strange toy cars I saw in the stores in Japan. I'd be surprised if it didn't turn into a robot at some point.

For those that might be interested, from the Scion driver's perspective:

Numbchux,

Sorry to see Carl had a rough Friday...Day one is always a toughie, making the adjustments....at least Saturday went better right?

One additional thing about Chris' results at Sno Drift....he had a flat on Friday, stage 7 I believe. He lost something better than 15 minutes due to the flat. The results would have a been a bit different otherwise....I know, shoulda coulda woulda.

Here's the really amazing thing though, top 10 from Stage #6:

1 75 David Higgins / Craig Drew 11:14.5 0:00.0 46.38
2 40 Dave Mirra / Marshall Clarke 12:05.6 0:51.1 43.11
3 523 Travis Hanson / Terry Hanson 12:17.7 1:03.2 42.41
4 115 Joseph Burke / Alexander Kihurani 12:32.8 1:18.3 41.56
5 90 Lauchlin O'Sullivan / Scott Putnam 12:39.2 1:24.7 41.21
6 198 Arkadiusz Gruszka / Lukasz Wronski 12:45.7 1:31.2 40.86
7 70 Christopher Duplessis / Catherine Woods 12:48.2 1:33.7 40.72
8 44 Henry Krolikowski / Cynthia Krolikowski 12:48.7 1:34.2 40.7
9 323 Erik Zenz / Dave Parps 12:57.3 1:42.8 40.25
10 494 Roman Pakos / Maciej Sawicki 12:57.6 1:43.1 40.23

There's only one 2wd car in that top 10...
