View Full Version : Wide Body Vs. Narrow body rear quarters

Perhaps this is a stupid question - but is there any difference between wide body (GTS/AllTrac) rear quarters and narrow body (GT/ST)?

I am wondering as I believe I will build my "parts car" GTS using the bottom end of my engine from my GT and thus end up with a GT as a "parts car" and the GTS as a driver.

My AllTrac needs a rear quarter and I wondered if the GT might be hacked to provide such.

So - just so I am clear on my basic question here -

Does anybody know whether or not narrow body and wide body fifth generation Celica rear quarter panels are the same or different?

I have both car types - but don't know anything about body work - so maybe somebody can tell me what to measure?

wheres the captain when you need him. i would think you could graph the two and weld . alot of bodywork tho.

Different. Not interchangeable. GTS=Alltrac body and vice versa.

I have seen someone cut the fenders off and weld them onto a car in need of rust repairing.

They're wider around the wheel arches, I think they can be used but it you would have to replace both sides for it to look right. I haven't seen it done but I don't see why it would be a problem. Why not just find a GT-S in a junkyard and yank those quarter panels?

Wide is 100 times nicer looking.
