Traded my Datsun B210 and a few hundred bucks for a 1 owner creampuff that his kid blew the engine and trans !!!

Bought an engine out of a burned up car we got in at work....
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad347/Rickstar22/Supra/SupraTeardown001.jpg
A few months, and $1100 bucks later, this is what I ended up with...
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad347/Rickstar22/Supra/Supra7MGTE001.jpg
Drug him in the bay today, and got everything battened down...

Get him all buttoned up in the next couple of days and running I hope... Then I get to move on to the goodies...

Started detailing the brakes....

http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad347/Rickstar22/Supra/SupraBuild024.jpg
Get that finished when I do the lowering...after I get the exhaust hung correctly...
Engine bay was ready for final detail until the oil leak... still OK, but not completely set up the way I want it...new hoses and such going on this weekend...
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad347/Rickstar22/Supra/SupraBuild023.jpg
It's gonna be a crappy weekend around here, so nothing to do outside. I should get a good amount of stuff done on Sunday...
Just little things here and there today....

http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad347/Rickstar22/Supra/SupraBuild027.jpg
Noone had good radiator hoses in stock locally, so I'll probably hit up Driftmotion for some silicone ones...

I'm thinking he used most of the blown engine for the rebuild and the torched one for internals, unless the the kid killed actually managed to completely ruin his original block.

good luck with a MkIII There the most over enginered pigs ever! I like them though... cool stuff for a car that was made 20 some years ago.

That was the intention, until I got the thing apart...

The donor engine's previous owner managed to melt the inside as well as the outside.... I had to bore .020 over and new pistons, bearings,etc...
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad347/Rickstar22/Supra/SupraBuild009.jpg
I got a good donor short block, and a few misc brackets, and some nuts and bolts basically...

That sucks, at least it more than likely didn't cost too much. You should have turned it into a coffee table.

The Deuce is ready for the road !!! Just got back from driving him around, just a faulty speedo now, dunno what happened. I'll get him back in the shop tomorrow after work. I'll get the exhaust sured up this week so the lowering setup can go on. Had to put a mechanical oil pressure gauge in until my pillar pod and real gauges come in. The car is filthy right now, but I will get better pics after he's clean.... BTW I know now how the RFL blow off valves got their name... this thing could wake the dead !!!

There are very few Mk3's that I see anymore that I actually like. WAY too many super red, burgundy and white ones around. That color blue (known on supramanina now as Jayblue after Suprahero's car) will always be one of my favorites though, and youve done a real nice job with it. Now, swap it out for a 92 shadow gray inside and it will be near perfection. ;)

Ugh, my buddy Tim had the H&R's in his...HORRIBLE springs. Stance is fantastic! but ride quality and streetability was awful.

Still, looks great...just be prepared to go through struts like they are going out of style.

Custom decals made by a friend in NY that makes reproduction decals for vehicles as a hobby. He wanted to do something "Original but not original" for a Supra, I decided to be a guinea pig...
