View Full Version : 190kmph cut off

so around 190kilometers an hour the car cuts out i was told that can be taken out of the plug to the ecu to stop the cut off
i can reach 200k (125mph) in 4th gear if i had no cut off
i cant even find out what 5th gears holds for me
so if any one can confirm this to be true or not please let me know

so from what i have read there is a pink wire that goes into the ecu and by unplugging it, cutting it, or buy a little black box that disrupts the electrical signal, one would be able to go as fast as the engine and tranny allow
i think in my spare time this weekend i will look for this wire

Best thing to use is a HKS speed limit defencer. That way all your gauges etc. will work properly up to the speed limiter.

the thing is i dont want to buy something that will cost me more then the car did

They are like $150. If you can't afford that, you certainly won't be able to afford maintenance on an alltrac/GT-Four. Or the speeding tickets.

This may be my favorite line.

Kaiserslautern, Deutschland

My dad spent 9 months on base there with the Army. When you're done, make sure they don't bill you like they did us.

has anyone took the time to try to make a speed limit defencer

I know there was one that I posted a link to from alltrac.net. When ever I have went back looking the thread is there but not the pic of the schematic. shadow25 might of saved the schematic might want to ask him. If you cut the wire I would put a switch in so that you can reconnect it and get rid of the check engine light otherwise with that wire cut you will always have a the check engine light on.

if you pull that pink wire it will remove the speed cut, but youll get a check engine light for the speed sensor. otherwise nothing will happen.

i thought i would extend the wiring to a toggle switch

Missed this thread.

Yes, it is the "SPD" wire at the ECU. Cut that wire, you will have no speed cut. But you will have a check engine light. So a toggle switch would probably be best so you can reconnect when you need to.
