View Full Version : Made run through the Texas hill country Saturday

I attended a MR2 meeting in the hill country on Saturday. It was a blast. We ran over 240 miles over some great roads. We had 14 cars in the group. We had a Hyundai Genesis coupe, 2 Mk2's, 2 Mk1's, my lone Celica, a Nissan Versa (it was unbelievable how good that thing went) and 7 Spyders. Scott from ATS was there with his MkII. Very nice car and great getting to me him.

We also saw a kangaroo ranch out there in the hill country. That was different.

I know it's kind of far for you guys in the east but you guys in the mid/southwest, we need to put a Celica run together. This was a ton of fun and the roads are as good as what we run in NC during the Dragon meet. I'm up for putting it together. Let me know what you think.

Here are some pictures.

Nice.. I lived in Austin and worked out on Lake Travis one summer, some really fun roads down there. I've seen a couple of those cars in years past at the Galveston MR2 meet, like that wingless SMG.

Sounds like fun to me. One could really open the throttle on those roads. You should try to put something together next year around this time.

Law enforcement was definitely thinner than in Tennessee. We saw two and from what the MR2 guys said, they sit in pretty much the same place all the time. In pickups on less.

I'm all for putting a run together. I can go ahead and put something up and we can start planning for next year. The weather here is time of year is great. It has been a little warmer this week, mid 80's, but normally it's in the 50's in the morning and upper 70's to low 80's. We'd have a blast.

What part of Texas is this in?

Just to the west of San Antonio. We were probably 50-60 miles to the west of the city.
