View Full Version : flushness!

A friend of mine is selling a set of wheels. i know i can fit them in the back just from numbers, but the front is what I'm looking at. On wide body gts fenders, can i fit 225's with a 15 mm spacer in the front? the car is dropped on eibach sportlines so there is a 1.5 mm drop. will the tires rub? I already had all 4 fenders rolled as well. Thanks in advance for any info given.

looking at an old thread, ciento44 fit 245's on with gts wide body fenders. I think i'll be alright.

That was also with stiff suspension and camber. I don't know how stiff the sportlines are (PS it's 1.5" not 1.5mm) but I ran 245, nearly flush, on a narrowbody. Of course, that was w/ 8kg fronts and 6ks rears.

yeah, i doubt the sportlines are stiff enough, I'd probably rub going over speed bumps. Thanks man

Adding camber can also help clearance sometimes. I know the autox evos and imprezas would never fit some of the wheel and tire combos they do if they weren't running 3* of neg camber on the front.

I dont think I understand what "flushness" means.... is it when the tire, and the fender are on the same plane like this??

or is it something else???

Here's one of my buddies cars.... His is 'almost flush'

Personally, I like the stance of his car now....

I hope that helps a bit...

EDIT: those are 18x9.5 wheels with a +35 offset. No spacers

Blood Money, it looks like he had those tires stretched a little. Are they?

Yea. They are only 245 wide.

Yikes. I dont like stretching tires.. Not my thing. I always buy the proper size/offest tires, just a peeve of mine.

I got 225's on 17x8 rims under my verts wide fenders. No problems.

you can also run 235/40 on 17x8

Ok, so what I am understanding from this thread is if you have a 5th gen wide body gt-s and you want your wheel fitment/stance to look like this (picture below), you would have to run a 17x8 with a 235 series tire with a +35mm offset with a possible 15mm spacer on the front? Am I correct on this assumption? I am in the market from rims, and I want this flush look/stance.

Offset is everything. But stretching the tires a bit with some camber would help your clearance issues.
