I removed the molding on the driver side quarter panel to replace my antenna and noticed that some of the plastics/rubbers used to protect my paint are wearing down and am curious what I can do to put something back on these pieces to keep the protection going strong.

Here's a couple of pics of what I'm talking about.

The rubber cracking on the plastic molding:

Rubber spacer between tab and molding:

Any ideas on these would be appreciated. This is a long term project car, so as I see things to fix, I'm trying to take care of them.

It looks like the plastic sockets were installed while the paint was still not cured. Their is usually little pieces of foam behind the plastic sockets. Just order new ones from Toyota.

easy enough to replace these, and cheap from toyota. Do you have a hatchback with 3 piece spoiler or what configuration do you have? If you have the 3 piece spoiler with a hatchback then you can use the following part numbers

QTY 1 : 76872-20090 PROTECTOR, RR (forward point, Right side piece, on the hatch)
QTY 1 : 76883-20050 PROTECTOR, RR (forward point, Left side piece, on the hatch)
QTY 1 : 76881-20050 PROTECTOR, RR (forward point, Right side piece, on the body)
QTY 1 : 76882-20050 PROTECTOR, RR (forward point, Left side piece, on the body)
QTY 1 : 76876-20060 PROTECTOR, RR (For the center post just below the light mounted on the hatch)
QTY 2 : 90999-91056 PROTECTOR, NO. 4 (inner gasket for the left and right end pieces mounted to the body)
QTY 2 : 90999-91055 PROTECTOR, NO. 3 (outer gasket for the left and right end pieces mounted to the body)
QTY 4 : 90999-91054 PROTECTOR, NO. 2 (both rear and outer, for both left and right posts of the center piece mounted on the hatch)
QTY 4 : 76868-20110 RETAINER, RR (These are bolts that hold the spoiler on, they come apart sometimes so I got a few just in case)

important note:

90999-91054 replaces 76873, 76874, and 76875.
90999-91055 replaces 76887
90999-91056 replaces 76888
the replacements are because Toyota went to a "cut to fit" system rather than having some of this rubber that was different lengths.

Chris,

I have a 3 piece spoiler on a coupe. I wasn't sure if Toyota sold these gaskets and other miscellaneous parts or not. Thanks for the part numbers. I'll probably go by the dealership later this week and pick up what I need.
