I just got back from the store and noticed when I got out of my car, my wngine bay was glowing orange... I could tell because I have a hole in my hood to where I am mounting a scoop. I popped the hood and its glowing where the turbo hooks to the exhaust manifold... which I believe is the compressor side? Its on the left... Is this normal? My car runs like shit... I am using the top mount intercooler.

The exhaust side of a turbo is called the turbine. And glowing is normal after prolonged exposure to high EGT's. Whether or not high EGT's are normal for the driving you did, I don't know.

if you wernt boosting the hell out of it, then you are running WAY rich. or lean.

All I went to was the store a mile from my house and back and yes, the scanner said I was running lean, I need to replace the o2 to see if its the problem... wouldnt spark plugs that are black as night indicate running rich? If so, why would the scanner say lean?

You could be running massively retarded timing. That causes high EGTs

EGT gauge FTW. No really. Get one! :)

Is your "scanner" a wideband? If so, then what exactly were your afr's like under boost? If you don't have a wideband, get one asap....and a pyrometer/egt gauge.

As long as your're in boost, the stock ecu would dump fuel to compensate, hence black plugs.

by scanner I mean A snap-on modis... My timing showed it was at 11 degrees advanced. I do need to get a afr wideband.. just cant find one for a good price. I am at work right now and put 4 new plugs in, and ordered a 02 sensor to see if anything happens.

I put the o2 in and its running rich now, it says. My next step i will take is replace all timing componets... found a gauge in my timing belt which might of caused it to stretch :(
