Hello,

New member here. I have a 1987 Celica ST with a 3SFE engine that I am running in the 24 hours of Lemons series. I'm prepping for my second race and have come across a timing dilemna. My first issue is that I can't get the idle below 1,600 rpm. I've replaced all of the vacuum lines, cleaned the throttle body and tried the idle adjusting screw. No dice. Now I am checking the timing and it reads 20 degrees BTDC. I've jumped the currect terminals and can't get below 20 degrees. Normally I'd be thinking I was off a tooth, but I have a hard time believing I've run a 14 hour race with no detonation or overheating problems with the timing so far off. Anybody have any ideas? Could my distributor be bad? Could I be under constant timing advance?

Thanks,

Mike
