Anyone ever had to deal with a code 12 ne, g fault or bad distributor? I seem to be having more trouble with this than I should right now. Symtoms are that it will start up and run for a while sometimes and most of the time it just backfires or sputters, doesn't matter where I set the distributor.

Any ideas??? I'll post better info when I'm more sober or as the questions come in.

Pretty common code. mk1? Either a bad ignitor distributor or coil.

Anyone know if there is a difference between a 91 usdm ignitor and a 93 jdm beside the plug, both are turbo models. I think it's time to open up the bgb and start stabing around with a multimeter.

So i only have 1 volt at the coil? Any ideas?

Found a lack of continuity between the G- at the distributor and the ecu but it was fine to the diagnostic port. Looks like i got screwed on yet another "uncut good working" engine harness. Time to tear open the harness i guess.

code 12 on odb1 is usally the dizzy, it will work fine for a few weeks then start to run on only 2 or 3 cylinders randomly when warm

yes ive had this happen 2 or 3 times on different cars

Ok i now have good spark and i found continuity between the resistor pack and the 1 thru 4 pins on the ecu with the injectors unpluged, that cant be right.

I find it strange that you post this on CT and NOT MR2OC. Although info on CEL's can be easily found on Google, I can guarantee you that MR2OC has a way more knowledge on the MR2 and 3SGTE than here on CT.
