Damn, that is one clean, low-mile and loaded all-trac. It's probably got every option they had except the auto climate control button.

^^ Not so much.

Let's see, a re-paint and rusty bolts in engine compartment. Possible odometer fraud IMO. Or hail damage or just a weak scam.....

I saw a few rusty bolts on the high heat areas, which is to be expected. I don't see any evidence of a respray though.

There was some overspray on the sway bar. Could be from painted calipers tho. Who knows. Still a clean celica.

Good catch. I didn't see that. There is some on the splashguard too.

Perhaps I'm jumping the gun, but I smell fish.

Since it has been in NY almost its whole life, I'd like to see some underneath pics.

Worth less w/o original paint at 40K miles IMO.

If I didn't do the vert, I'd have the cash for this. Dammit!

Check out the mirror pics. Terrible masking. And overspray under the cooling panel. Paint run under the "Alltrac" on back hatch. Just saying....

if this car was re-sprayed.. so?

if this car has bad paint, you're gonna re-spray it too right? so atleast the owner did the job for you..

I just find it odd that, in the eBay listing, he referes to it as "this vehicle" about 30 times.

Begs the question, why re-paint at such low miles?

And for ME, I'd rather buy faded OE pink and buy my own paint job. And I wouldn't do a cheap Maaco like job.

Some full disclosure by seller would be nice about now.

there could be a ton of reasons he could give us..
plus the mileage is not the one that dictates whether you should or should not repaint your car..

maybe he just wants it to look good?
i dunno..

but im tellin ya'll, if i were to buy a trac, or any car for that matter, paint would be the last thing i'd change.. hence why my trac looks like crap..

now, to have the chance to buy a car that is already repainted is a bonus..
atleast, if its as clean as that one, maybe 98% of my priorities would go to performance.. a few oversprays wont hurt.. why is it such a big deal?

some of us use our tracs with dents etc so why bother scrutinize the paint?.. plus that red paint aint pussy for me.. i have a red trac and wants to have a nice paintjob like that sometime..

Well, what looks good from afar can sometimes be far from good.

But honestly, I think its good for prospective bidders to know what they might be getting since they can't often make a physical inspection.

And if seller is claiming "minty minty" and no known damage, it should be as such.

And pic of tach shows engine idling under 500 rpm? Tune up perhaps?

VikingJZ

I noticed that too. The AC is on but it shouldn't be idling under 500 like that.

I'm not sure about this car though.

I don't think they are being completely honest about this car.

hmm.. maybe the reason why all of us sees all those things is because we "know"..
not a lot of people are like us..

looking at it closely and in person is still the best than just judging it from the pics.. :D

just b/c the car has low miles doesn't mean it's really totally mint.
ask jonstew about the 42k mile '92 alltrac that he bought & had shipped from tx.
it was at a toyota dealership was super minty looking etc & it spun a rod bearing due to the previous owner not taking care of it.

of course there are things not disclosed in the auction & there will always be suprises when anyone buys a used car no matter how nice it appears to be on the outside.

like bridge, i wish they would show underbody shots most notably the front sway bar mounting point area & the rear wheel arches.

i just want the damn floor mats - ya'll can have the rest of the car ;)
