Hey everyone, I have a 94 celica with the 5sfe in it and low miles and I also have a 91 with high miles on the 5s. I am planning on rebuilding the 94 and wanting to swap into the 91. I know I need to swap wiring harness and ecu...but is there anything else I would have troubles with...such as speedometer still work the same and so on. Oh and the reason I'm swapping is that the 94 is crunched in the the back... Any suggestions are appreciated

Honestly I don't think you even need to swap electronics. If you were to use the head and block from he 6th gen and then all the sensors and manifolds from the 5th gen is should be a drop in swap with no wiring needed.

The wiring harness has different connectors for starter, alt., etc... but I'm not sure about the ecu.

then transfer it all over, use the 91's trans. etc.

strip it to longblock status and then transfer the parts over.

should be a pretty easy swap once I get it rebuilt...Just working for the money to do it all...I've got a buddy that rebuilds head and works at our local lexus dealership and probably gonna have that done by him

I would swap out the transmission as well, you just have to replace the electronic speed sensor in the S54 from you 6th gen to the mechanical speed sensor that's in the S53 in the 5th gen.

Also, all the electronics and wiring will have to be swapped over as the 91 isn't a rev2 5S-FE, so it doesn't have a knock sensor.
