From what I understand the 3RZ taco engine is quite popular for drag. I think there is a rwd 6th gen running on as well I posted a while back. Its a popular racing engine, in PR from what I was told a while back.

I am swaping one into an '89 4Runner I am building right now. They are a popular swap for the off road set as well.

its basically a big 3S. :)

whereas the 3S has an 86x86 bored and stroke, the 3RZ has a 95x95 bore and stroke! damned impressive if you ask me. :)

its the new R series. with a lil twist of technology. They are wonderful engines, my dads tacoma hasnt given any shit, if i could find a cheap one, it would be in my ae86 with a massive turbo.

troof

been tellin you fools go rwd...

honestly i would have done a 2rz or 3rz swap to the 3rd gen but the whole 22RTE and quadrunner togather only cost 400 bucks

theres a guy on celica-gts.com runnin a 2rz with megasquirt it outdoes itself for what it is

Before I sold my 3rd gen I had planned to swap in a 2rz - they turbo better than the 3rz. Excellent motor. The only reason I decided not to was because I finally realized just how rusty the car was, and how much work it would take to make it hold the extra power... and decided that I only wanted one project car. So I sold it and bought a GT-Four. Now I get to concentrate on building my Supra!

And yep, I'd been talking to Teran on celica-gts... was going to use Megasquirt 3!

There's a Yaris... yes, Yaris.. with what I believe is a 3rz converted to RWD. They've brought it out to a couple NW Toyota meets, pretty nifty.

my sponsor (PARADISE RACING) is the developer and tester for most of the 3rz parts.
