Hey everyone,

First, I have searched for this info for about 2 days now, but no luck...

Anyway, I have a 91 which is a rev1 5sfe correct? But I found a cheap bottom end out of a 92, which is a rev2.

My goal is to just rebuild this bottom end and freshen it up.
I can also get my hands on a 3sfe head from a 4th gen.

I know its been covered before but will the head bolt up and be fine? As in the cooling passages line up, etc...

Can I then put this in my car, using my intake etc that I have now, and not have to worry about wires, sensors? I know the rev2 has a knock sensor but do I need to run that since my car doesn't have one?

Thanks a lot!

If this works as I planned I should have the engine next week and some pics to follow my progress...

Use the rev2 (5s)bottom end along with your rev1 head (5s), intake manifold, throttle body, distributor and valve cover.
This coupled with your rev1 electronics and ecu should be an easy swap.
Since the rev1 does not come equipped with a knock sensor, it will not look for that signal.

To sum up:
Rev1 head
Rev2 block
Rev1 IM
Rev1 TB
Rev1 Valve Cover
Rev1 Plug Wires
Rev1 Distributor
Rev1 Electronics
Rev1 ECU

All Plug n' Play.

dont even bother using the 3sfe head the valves are smaller and there are some other differences.
