Would be a good drive. I can get friday off if any one wants to caravan up there. otherwise i'll just shoot up 75 after work.

If we do this anyone coming from points south is more than welcome to pitch a tent in my backyard (i'd let you crash inside but there is no room 4 people 2 dogs 2 cats 1000 square feet)

I live in marietta about 5 minutes outside 285. Marietta has the best mexican food BC we're overrun by mexicans so that's a plus to coming here and hanging out.

Oh and if that link doesn't work I want to go up 400 past Turner's Corner to the GA 129/GA 60 intersection then take 60/US74 to 75 in cleveland TN. should take less than 7 hours with stops.

The suches loop is an awesome drive and we would be doing half of it on this trip. You could probably google "suches loop" and find some coo stuff about the roads.

We normally have a group meet in Atlanta. We leave at 12 SHARP. Have lunch it Clayton. Head into North Carolina and go through the Highlands then take the dragon into Tennessee. But since Hwy129 is closed just north of the dragon, we have to take an alternate route.. Skyway perhaps?

I think The Cap'n said he already had a route planned for the atlanta caravan.

True, but alternative suggestions are welcome. Plus, if the group is too big we'll split up anyway.

Marshall and I are in for the caravan. Whatever the group decides it wants to do is fine with us, though he may have a preference.

So you usually go up 985 hit warwoman in clayton take a left off of warwoman go up through sky valley and highlands and then back to 441 and on through robbinsville? That's a good drive.

Another option is to go up 985/441 take a left on lake rabun rd. and drive around lake rabun and lake burton then straight through batesville and helen and onto the north half of the suches loop and then onto cleveland TN via TN 40 (I've never driven this but it looks fun)

http://www.motorcycleroads.com/routes/SouthEast/GA/GA_4.shtml

The north half of the suches loop includes GA 180 the curviest road in GA.

Those roads east of 441 are great. I know because I grew up in clayton. BUT
GA 60, GA 180, and richard b russel are better roads with less cops etc.

I'm not trying to change anyone's tradition though. I will caravan with you guys either way unless my boss is a nazi about friday.

Well give me the info already. I'd like to meet up with you guys and drive up.

EDIT: DAMMIT I just remembered I'm going to DC in June. I'll probably have to drive up Saturday morning. I don't think I can afford 2 nights in a hotel in k-ville and 5 nights in DC too.

...unless someone will split a room with me.

I know a lot of people are planning on driving up the day before and staying at John's place, but Marshall and I can accommodate some some people as well. There might be an added benefit to staying with me in that you might catch me half naked.:shush:

What's the deal pickles?

We meeting @ the QT on old p-tree? Just tell me a time and I'll be there. I am of the opinion that 10 or 11 am would be a good time to head out.
