Japan...you can find it in the interior of a 7th gen.

Other than that, don't waste your money...its not that cool.

I wonder if in Japan/other EU countries if they say 'God we want a LHD car'.

Srsly, it's a lot of work to convert LHD to RHD. You'll need to replace the firewall, steering assembly, pedals, under-dash wiring, engine wiring.. etc.

I know they want the amber corners...hehe.

I'm with Geebes. JDMtyteYO is a thing of the 90s, and even then, it was predominantly a Honduh thing. It would be uber ridic to see you going through the drive thru at McD's in reverse, LOL.

So what you guys are saying, is my real RHD Mr2 is garbage?

:(

I wouldn't make the effort to build a car thats RHD. its alot of cutting and welding. Guy up here did it to an integra, and I guess it was a BIG job.

If it came with it, then fine...if you are gonna spend craploads to convert it...then no.

The only reason to have a RHD car in a LHD country is because the car in question was only ever available in RHD. Converting from one to the other because you think it's cool is idiocy.

At least, that's what I would think as I saw you drive by.

P.S. My DD is RHD. But my car was only ever available in RHD.

If you are suffering to your st205, then you wrong. It was offered in LHD for Europe.

First I've heard of it. I'm sure there weren't many, and that it'd carry quite the premium on it.

However, that's not the point - I didn't buy a RHD car because I thought it was "cool." In fact, I had to do a lot of pondering as to whether or not it was worth the irritation of RHD just to get the car I wanted. In an ideal world, my DD would be a LHD car - too bad I can't be happy with just a Ford Focus.

I don't blame, you. I think to have a rhd car for the cool factor is rather lame. And, in your defense, they are importing st205s from japan, so you really do not have an option. While the production of lhd gtfours is higher then you might think, the cars are more expensive in Europe then they are in japan, which is likely why they only import them from Japan.

Makes sense to me!

That said, RHD is not as bad as I had initially thought (obviously... I did buy the car, after all) - but I would still rather have a LHD car on roads that were designed for LHD cars, given the option.

Yep, cost of importing European cars is rather high, mileage is usually higher also. It's not a big deal LHD or RHD, but I would never convert a car from one to the other.

Sean @ Zen Auto (who originally brought in your '4) once brought in a car (ST165) from Switzerland actually, but for the effort and quality of car received I don't think he'd do it again.

Did you change your mind.

IMO your money would be better spent on performance.

Having a RHD car is interesting and I enjoy having it but I have to go to the airport tomorrow and get through the automatic toll booth thing will be an interesting challenge to get in the parking garage but I will make it work.

My Dad and I did a RHD conversion on my all trac after it was severely damaged in the front during an accident and we were going to be doing a lot of repairs on it anyway and we already had the necessary clip so he wanted to do RHD conversion just to see if he could. And he already owns a RHD Gt-Four so he had something to visually compare stuff to.

Now we own two RHD all-tracs and a RHD MKIII Supra but we only did the conversion on my all-trac the others were imported from Japan. RHD is unique and I think a lot of fun to have but tricky and you need to take into account that some have issues driving a RHD stick shift. So definitely take into account your ability to drive your car, you may be all that with your RHD car but if all you're doing is grinding gears when you drive it you won't be that cool, just saying.

I don't find it any different driving a RHD vs LHD car. Sure there is a 10 minute learning curve (mainly for the turn signals/wipers) but then I have always fought the point that "its not the car thats dangerous, its the driver". My DD is a RHD JDM ST185. No, I didn't buy it because it was cool, I bought it because i like the body style and for a 20yr old car in mint condition with low km it was $6,000.00. Show me anywhere in NA that will sell me a 20yr old car for that price in that shape .... So, for about the cost of a clip, time, parts, wiring and frustration, you could just go and import one from Japan yourself :D
.... might even be cheaper.

Thats, funny, my buddy Don keeps forgetting to bring his loose Momo wheel with him. He is dying to fool other drivers into believing he is driving my MR2, then act like the wheel came off and has no control of the car.

Ryan's been meaning to do the same in my car with the wheel out of his Supra... he's got a removable one, for extra security. I won't let him. :P
