So it seems like my 02 GT hasn't had any regular maintenance (I only had her for a year and put about 5k miles on her).

What should I check or change? (im mechanically challenged/noob :bricks:)

oil, oil filter, check/change coolant, check/change cap and rotor, check/change spark plugs, check/change the tranny fuild, air filter, fuel filter, check/change spark plug wires, check the belts all around(change if worn), also check them for looseness or being too tight, check air pressure on tires......this is what i do everytime i go in

or if you want go to a quick lube place and tell them to do a tune up........lol but it will cost you more.

7th gen doesn't have a distributor.. so disregard the cap/rotor/plug wires/.

The only thing you need to check really is all the fluid levels. Change the oil and oil filter for sure. 5W-30 is the norm.

Check the serpentine belt for cracks. As long as the car is running fine, that's pretty much it.

You can check the spark plugs. If it has iridium plugs like the GT-S, they last a real long time.

Along with what Vip09 said, all fluids, and check the belts. Lots of guys use the penzoil synchromesh for tranny fluid, iridium spark plugs. So when you do all that, see how it runs. I'd stay away from seafoam if you don't need it. So if you do all the above and it runs fine, the seafoam would be unnecessary.
