Well, it IS a modification, just not a good one.
I manhandled my rusted, broken, exhaust back into a semi-functioning mess. It's more free flowing than stock, that's good right??

I would have to say that is a winning situation, self mods = win

Obviously I've done a lot :P

When all is said & done.. I'd of done a 3sgte swap (added turbo), e153 transmission swap with LSD (tranny work), modified intake, relocated battery, lighting upgrades (siverstars & fogs somewhere in garage), will be re-tinting the windows, brakes & suspension is also planned later down the road.

On that list, supercharger and nitrous are on my not done list. No interest in nitrous, but S/C maybe someday if I had the right platform for it. But I really like turbos so I dunno.

02-16-2010, 05:02 AM
At one point in time, I've done of the above except supercharger to the current car.

I was actually a few clicks away from dropping a TRD supercharger on top of the current turbo setup,
having a dual charged 7th gen...for no real reason whatsoever, haha.

I guess as of now I'm the only person who's ran nitrous as well.

most of my mods, not all important, but fun.

Modifications: I have a custom cold air intake . i ported out my throttle body to 58mm from 50mm and tuned it to run correctly. i have 15"white motegi AR-49 rims, i advanced the timing to 16 degrees ATDC. i have a JDM exhaust manifold from a 89 gts witch has a 4-2-1 design and a high flow muffler. i relocated my battery to my trunk.i have a custom 4 ga ground kit. i run lucas synthetic oil and royal purple syncromax trans fluid . i installed a rear strut tower brace. i port and polished my intake manifold and polished my valve cover. i rebuilt the motor with oem parts and a rev 2 head, for a more aggressive cam profile. i have a sony sdrive head unit with ipod connection. i installed a custom molded 3 to 1 piece spoiler. i cut my stock shifter stick down by about 4". i have removed almost everything from my trunk, the passenger seat, back seats for weight reduction. i have a 150 mph speedo cluster from a 92 gts, and 92 style taillights.

3" Downpipe back stainless exhaust (removed one of the cats), and cold air intake. I am waiting for my new (MUCH LARGER) front mount intercooler to arrive. In the next few months I will also be getting the computer tuned. What I expect to gain when done is an additional 40-50hp over stock all at the wheels. Stock I was rated at 175hp at the crank. As it sits I should be about 190 at the crank.

You want to make sure everyone sees you?

Luni

Cause its expensive and I dont drive my MR2 enough to care too much.

Does having tinted windows on the 7th gen count? Cause they are :p

I'm going to have a shop strip the tint off the Celica's windows and re-tint them. It was either a shitty job, or done way back when the car was new (peeling/bubbles/etc). Gonna go limo on the back windows, and the state limit on the front & liftback window.

Well, this is everything I have planned for the Trac.

-Supra CT26A
-ST205 transmission

Not quite sure about the benefits of the ST205 transmission, but the Supra CT26 turbo is a waste of money. You're better off getting the CT20b or CT27 (aka ATS Racing modified CT26 for 3SGTE).

The 205 has a lot of upgrade components like the syncros. It's a good upgrade.

i'm shocked that suspension work is so low on the list. :( but, i agree that there is no surprise that intake is the single most commonly performed mod...

at this point, the only mod that i truly regret is... removing the a/c from my car.

why is 'brake upgrade' not on the list?!!?

yeah... its easy to see what i feel is important. :)

There's nothing on the list related to internal engine components, and that makes me sad. That's where I've dropped most of my moneys!
