Just curious really. Chances are I'm going to just take the car to an exhaust shop and have a 3" full exhaust made for it, but I'm curious.

I dropped the collector from the cat, dropped the cat and there's only a few hangers left. One back by the 90* bend to go around the gas tank, then the loop over the rear suspension.

Would you just cut it there at the bend by the suspension, then drop the pipe & muffler or fish it all out around without cutting, or drop the suspension link to chassis and then drop exhaust?

I unbolted everything I could and used a pipe cutter for the rest.

Why in God's name would you need to cut any part of it?

Just unbolt it all and pull it out. 20 minutes tops man.

Don't be lazy this close to the end Tim.

You know what I always say: Do it once, do it right.

That's the thing though, the exhaust pipe is welded to the muffler. I don't think there's a way i can pull it all out without cutting if it I didn't drop some end links & suspension in the rear. Still liking my idea of leaving it & towing it to a shop to build a new one though :P

^You can unbolt everything if it's stock, but mine had some custom welding (repairs) which made that impossible. If you must cut, pick the most strategic point that would make easy access for repairs.

I went to an exhaust shop. I leave that shit alone. If I could weld it might be different.

Ok. Well since it's the stock exhaust I don't GAF what happens to it. I'll sell the cat to a scrapyard for some cash, and toss the rest. I finally found a shop that can build one for me out here :woot:

yeah you're better off just leaving it to the muffler shop to put it together for you. Less headaches.....
