They seem fine for me when I used eBay gasket kits.

I've used them before with good results. Definitely wouldn't use an one on a race or performance build but should be OK. I rebuilt a 1.8 1st gen eclipse motor for my little brother and a 1.9 1994 saturn motor for my little sister and both are still running strong. No leaks.

Cool. Cause I mean..the ebay kits like 1/4 the price of a toyota kit.
How about ebay rings?

I have never heard of NPR. Is it a real brand?

Nevermind. Id rather have toyota rings proven to last 200k+ miles

Thats cheap...

The questions is. Is a rod bearing the same as any other? I kinda wanna use Toyota cause its been proven to last very long.

Someone change the title to Ebay engine kits please

So for about $358 I can get
Toyota Crank bearings
Toyota Rod bearings
Toyota Piston rings
Toyota Head bolts
Ebay gasket kit

VS
Ebay engine rebuild kit by Topline $378
Kit includes piston rings, rod and main bearings, intake and exhaust valves, valve guides, complete gasket set and thrust washers.
The valves make this an awesome deal but I just dont know. I've researched Topline and they are good, reputable company, but its not toyota.
Help?

I'd get the toyota parts myself. I've had bad luck with autozone/ebay gaskets. And the 3sfe doesn't use an oil pan filter, it uses the FIPG.

Not sure what brand of gaskets Topline uses, but I've used those eristic gaskets before, like the brand in your first post. They worked okay, but I didn't really like them. Some of them don't have a very good fitment, particularly some of the rubber bits like the o-rings.

Notting whrong with ebay but not sure about Ebay head gaskets. Just to be on the safe side for a few $ more I think you can get something a little more reputable. Don't forget it's a very large job and I don't think you want to chance in doing it twice. :)

Thanks for the input guys. After sleeping on it I've decided to go Toyota. I just cant justify saving a few bucks and not having a top quality part.
