I like the 95 GT a lot but on the highway I keep wanting to reach for a higher gear. Does anyone know if the gen 7 6 speed will "fit" in a gen 6. Gen 6 already has the 5 speed. Also what is the top gear ratio for the 6 speed. It might not provide anything but more shifting.

Since you have a 5S-FE, it will not fit, if you had a 7A-FE in there, it would fit with some minor modifications.

ah but the new camry 6 speed manual tranny would fit!!! Good luck getting one, and you would be the first person to get one on!

true, the zz motor shares the same bellhousing with the a series. the s series is a little different. i have heard of one person making a e153 lsd trans mate up to a 2zzgte. he did a lot of custom work on it though.

True... while not a six speed those transmissions would lower his highway RPMs a bit.

It hasnt been done to any car that I am aware of but, its a 2010 camry that has the v6 6 speed transmission.. EB62, I was reading this the other day...

It looks somewhat similar to a E153, the one thing I can tell just by observing the first picture is the Linkage looks really odd? Also the Slave cylinder is inside the tranny/bellhousing.....

But, if it bolts to a 2gr then it bolts to a 3sgte!!!!!! I would imagine.. good luck getting your hands on one though and at that point the person to put it in would have sooooooo much trial and error just to get it working.

In 2005 when I had my 6th gen and tried swapping a E153 in it without much writeups/documents it was brutal I never want to go through something like that again.
