oh yes. with lots of money.

wait, no it wont just drop in. think custom cross members and engine/ tranny mounts. wiring and exhaust/chassis work.

I'd go with a 1JZ, it's a bit shorter due than the 2JZ and most people that stuff 2JZ motors into the older RWD Celicas have to seriously hammer the firewall and move the radiator and a bunch of other fabrication.

Basically it breaks down to this: you either need a bunch of money, or you need to be a fabricator.

So if you're thinking of doing this on a 6-8K budget you may need to rethink that.

I vote for 1UZ or the like. There are plenty of engines that would fit, but honestly from a cost vs power ratio I doubt I would use anything from toyota. I would really consider some of the cheap ford or Chrysler engines that you might build up. If you go with something that is has a carb, you will have a much simpler time setting it up since going with EFI you will have to figure out how your are going to wire up the engine. Search around some forums and you will find a link I posted with an 84 or 85 celica that was swapped to v8.

Buy the cressy and work on that fine peace of toyota beauty. I love cressy's so long as they aren't torn to hell and better off scrap metal
