View Full Version : Buying New wheels

I was thinking about buying a set of TSW snettertons in 17 x 8

I was wondering if i would need to roll the fenders or anything to get everything to fit ok, assuming the wheels are wrapped in 30 series tires.
The car is pretty low and i'm afraid of rubbing or anything. Right now i have a set of 17 x 7.5 wheels with 45 series tires on it and they rub sometimes on turns and bumps.

Would the half an inch make a huge difference?

Would the reduction of sidewall size help to nullify the problem?

Any and all help is appreciated.

You may have to roll those fenders those are some wide wheels. I like em!

What size tire are you thinking? The series tire is just a ratio from the width so not doing the width means I have no idea how tall the tire is actually going to be.

And what's the offset going to be? What vehicle is it going on?

I don't see the offset listed on the page, however I know that a 17x8+35 rim with a 225/45 tire fits on a stock ride height coupe, didn't do much turning with it though, was just a general fitment test.

They are going on my 91 gt. I play on buying the widebody fenders so im not sure if that will change much. The car is lowered so i'm not sure how well they will turn, i have a fabrication shop with a paint booth and stuff so anything small i can do there.

The only problem i have with rolling fenders, is i don't want to do it like some people by sticking a baseball bat in there and drive forward and stuff like that.

Either way thanks for the input
