2000 celica gt $2,500 the seller says it won't go into gear and thinks it's a clutch or transmission problem. he says it goes into some gears but not all.
127,000 miles looks and runs great.

i think it could just be the linkage.looking for opinions what do you think?

Well, If its Linkage, check if it goes into gear 1,3,5... Or 2,4,R... If it goes into either one of those only then yes I would s ay it is a Linkage Problem and it could just be a linkage / shifter cable..... If that was the case I would just drive it home.. lol I would hope 135 work rather than 24R hah

Those Motors are okay, there semi reliable cars but compared to other cars around 2500 if you can fix it easily then sure its a deal.

buy a 82-85 celica or a 94-99 celica

I wouldn't beat on a Z series engine!

That's a good deal though if you can fix it.

Its a newer looking car and has a nice design.

I would buy that!

If its a cheap-ish fix then I would hope all over it. You dont see that car here sell for less the 4 to 5 k with no problems.

well, i checked it out breifly last night, and i think it does have a clutch problem. it shifted ok with the engine off, so the linkage is probably fine.

of course as soon as i got there it started pouring down rain, so i didn't check anything else. i think i'll pass on this one, probably sold by now, but anyway, thanks for the replys.
