I am looking to get a remote starter for my 5th gen automatic. I live in Chicago and to not put too fine a point on it, it's frickin freezing come winter time.

I am having a professional install it but I need help selecting a starter that will work with my car. I have looked at a few models on JC Whitney but it's hard to find specific information on whether these will work out of the box with the 5th gen. If anyone has any suggestions or wisdom to share on this subject it'd be much appreciated.

Looks nice. I don't have an alarm system and I wasn't sure if I planned to add one. For the sake of curiosity do you have a link to the product you bought?

With an automatic all of them will be compatible. Some cars require extra parts if it has a chip in the key but the 5th gen celica is not one of them. I heard good things and my friends had good luck with DEI. directed.com

I don't like key fobs that have antenna stubs and screens. I think they look cheap.

I'm trying to figure out how I can get power locks in my del Sol so I can get an alarm.
