Hey all.

I finally found some stock rims off of an 86 GT that I am going to put on my 89 GT. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the biggest size tires I can put on these 13's. Or if anyone had any specific recommendations.

Thanks

I have been looking at a few rims for quite some time now, but just haven't had any luck finding a nice set of 4-lug that would fit my car. I really like the design that the GT-S and All-Trac have, but unfortunately those are 5-lug and wont fit my car. To answer your question, I finally found something I would consider and decided to pick them up. However, I didn't know the 5th gen made a 4-lug design. Any pics with what these rims look like?

I am going to try out some 205-60-13's tomorrow afternoon and see how they look on the current rims that I have but, I think Crisco might be right about just putting stock tires on them... the 205's might look too big for the 13" rim.

205 will be too wide for the rim. 60 isn't bad but will leave you with more gap between the tire and fender.

But if you can experiment then by all means do. You may be able to get a 195 to work. Let us know what you find.

Hey guys,

I ended up liking the 205/60/13's. Here's an updated pic.

They actually don't look bad for 13's. The car can use a little drop.

original poster failed at making suspension better the junkyard way

if you want to do it cost effectively

go to the junkyard, find a later model 4 lug toyota with 15 inch steelies, then proceed to mount 205/50/15s or 205/55/15s on them, 205/55/15s will fill the wheel wells and are easier to find and cheaper.

also craigslist searching for xb steel wheels works as well

wheel mod, find a set of beauty rings and chome lug nuts then add a small center cap or some baby moon/dog dish caps

enjoy the handeling difference
