Currently drilled a hole through and bolted it back together till I can get some channel iron and weld it back together.

Dayum son! Get that shit welded back up asap. I guarantee you that bolting it up will not help much as the load won't balance and seek out the weakest point potentially causing more damage.

wow... a little bit of JB Weld would do the trick.. lolz....

Can you clarify by what you mean "Core Support" ? Is that the seam that connects the 2 halves of the car under the front seats? Pictures?

The front support right under the radiator. Look to the left of the image, notice the two bushings for the front engine brace, in front of the engine mount?

Basically the part of the frame that supports the front of the engine.

Joey the racer didn't break an engine, or a tranny, or any other major component. He fuckin' broke the damned vehicle! That's impressive! Rock on Joey!

Plan is to weld in a piece of plate, to hell with this flimsy sheet metal shit...

I'm not too concerned about it, the rear of the crossmember is bolted in and seeing as it's a folded piece, it's unlikely to give way. Also the drivetrain still has the left and right side mounts and the lateral crossmember to retain it.

But it was clackin like a bastard...

nice. So when is the next event?

Next season, some good downtime to get the other car race ready.

PS: Is it bad that I'm doing fabrication work on the daily driver?

I got the GTS but it's going to be the dedicated racecar. So, of course, it's coming together slowly. I have about 2 pages of "To Do" on the white car before it's ready.

I'm currently amassing parts for it. :) Got tires, getting wheels next. RedRckt is going to be getting a good amount of business from me for sure.

What year gts? Are you planning a build thread?

KoreanJoey

90. Um... I wasn't really planning on it but I guess I could. I normally work solo and don't really like taking the time to snap photos while I work.
