i believe 96 was when it was switched over

Thats the result I got when I googled but it's also mixed, but I'd like to hear from both JDM and domestic people on here.

I don't see a OBD2 connector from the harness I grabbed, so maybe it's on a different part...

Since OBDII is always in the cab, it could part of the dash harness, not the engine one. Might be why you're missing it. :shrug:

Not 100% on that one, but I'm sure someone who knows will chime in.

1996 was the start of the government mandated OBDII change. Any U.S. spec vehicle will have it starting that model year. Which is why I always find it hilarious that half of GM's from 96 have a non-working connector. :hehe:

Yeah I thought it may be part of the dash harness... but if it were, where the heck does it hook up to? ..cause I'm looking at the ECU, and I don't think there is something relating to that.
