I have completed my first swap!!! I didn't do it all by myself and still have a lot of questions/worries to deal with. First, my idle is running around 2000 when I start it. Second, there's still a hissing sound around the P/S area. Third, anyone from the Seattle area that can steer me towards a good shop to help me tune this bad boy up and diagnose the problem? Thanks in advance.

What kind of swap exactly? There is a power steering idle up valve on the pump that has two vac lines hooked up to it. It is very common for people to break off the ports of this valve when removing/installing the engine b/c its plastic. Thats prob why your idle is high b/c you have a vac leak there.

It's a 3SFE into my 89. Everything is basic for daily commute purposes. The two vac lines seem to be fine last night, but I will check again tomorrow for the hoses to make sure they're connected properly.

Yeah, there's some vac lines running from the PS resivors over to the intake manifold. Make sure these are sealed and good.

Everyone else.... use the SEARCH!!! (always wanted to do that).
